A plain description of what Spale holds. This is a draft, written before launch — it will be replaced by a reviewed notice before anything is sold.

Draft. Nothing on this page has been through a lawyer. It describes how the programs behave today and is written so it can be checked against them.

What the account holds

An email address, a password you chose (stored hashed, never in the clear), an optional display name, and the six-digit codes used to confirm the address. That is the account.

What SpaleHub sends

To keep a licence alive the hub identifies the computer it runs on and asks the licence server whether that machine still has a seat. It fetches update information and release notes for the programs you have installed.

What SpaleStudio sends

Technical error reports, on by default. When something in SpaleStudio fails, it sends a short report to Spale and to Sentry, the error-tracking service we use: which part failed, a fixed error code and error type, locations in SpaleStudio's own code (file name and line), a few numbers such as an exit code, the app version and the Windows version. A random report id, not tied to your account, lets the server limit how many reports one computer sends. A report never contains prompts, terminal output, file paths, titles or account details. To stop them, turn off Settings → Security & Privacy → Automatic error reports; reports still waiting are then deleted, and a report is sent only when you press Send report on an error notice.

Anonymous performance samples, off unless you turn them on. If you do, SpaleStudio notes how it is running — hardware names, memory and CPU figures, how many terminals and agents are open, how long start-up took — and sends one summary a day at most, under a random id used for nothing else. While they are on, error reports also include a record of recent app and terminal events (event types and numbers only). Turning them off deletes what is waiting to be sent and that id.

What never leaves your machine

Your code, your folders, your terminal output, your SpaleMemory notes, your board and your prompts. SpaleStudio launches agent CLIs that are already on your machine, and those talk to their own providers under your own accounts. Spale is not in that conversation and does not see it.
